Become a Tutor by Volunteering through the Tutorfair Foundation

Your Gateway to a Professional Career in Tutoring

Are you interested in becoming a private tutor but can’t decide whether it's for you? Volunteering is a great way to explore a career in tutoring and decide if it suits you.

Here at the Tutorfair Foundation we're always looking out for great volunteers like you. We work with hundreds of volunteers across the UK and provide them with excellent volunteering opportunities to help them decide whether tutoring is for them.

As a volunteer tutor, you can gain valuable teaching and leadership experience, support and mentoring, and personal satisfaction for doing something good - helping to improve student confidence and aspirations.

Ways to Volunteer:

As a Foundation volunteer, you can choose to volunteer face-to-face or online. Currently our online opportunities are almost all for GCSE Maths, but we are busy getting ready to extend to other subjects in 2020.

We work with a wide range of schools, charitable organisations and community interest companies to identify volunteering opportunities; and we make sure you get training before and feedback after.

As a volunteer tutor, you must have an A or B at A-level (or equivalent) in the subject you wish to tutor. If you do not meet this requirement but have a relevant degree, your application may still be considered. If you would like to tutor at A-level, then you will need a relevant degree.

When you sign-up, simply select the subjects and areas you are happy to cover and we will let you know the opportunities that might suit you as they open.

The Benefits of Volunteering with us:

  • Free DBS Certificate (a saving of £56)
  • Free, high-quality training on Teaching and Safeguarding
  • Embellish your CV with new skills

  • Make a difference to disadvantaged pupils
  • A great way to launch and boost your tutoring career!

Don’t just take our word for it...
